Study Series 14 Lesson 6: The Resurrection and the 2 Timothy 2:17-18 Hymenaeus and Philetus Heresy –> What is this and how would this be possible? Correcting Misconceptions: In this study we explore in depth the Hymenaeus and Philetus Heresy. We explore all the future eschatological positions, as well as the Preterist view, in “what would have to be believed” in order to be believing this heresy. 2 Thessalonians will be examined in depth again with a few questions to help guide: 1.) How could it be possible for the Thessalonians to believe the Day of the Lord had already come? 2.) If the Thessalonians had a misconception about the Day of the Lord, what was the nature of their error? 3.) What does all this mean for us?
This study explores the timing and nature of the resurrection described in the Bible –> and covers many related passages from the Old and New Testaments. I can assure that you will be enlightened, encouraged and strengthened in your faith as scripture answers scripture.
This was written and spoken to living breathing people 2,000 years ago, so it becomes imperative for us to put ourselves in their time, culture, events and worldview in order to correctly understand what the Holy Spirit was saying to them (and then for what would be for us). This study is sure to be very helpful.
