Adoption

ADOPTION is a biblical doctrine that allows for all faithful believers to become actual children of God.  When God saves us, He not only frees us from the penalty of our sins, but He also ADOPTS us into His family.  In that sense, we are ADOPTED heirs with the Son of God and only because of Him.  Jesus Christ is our Lord, our Savior, our King, our High Priest, and we are IN HIM by faith.

Jesus owns everything and is blessed with all of the promises of God.  They are to Him, for Him, and by Him.  We are joint-heirs with Him because we belong to Him and are given rights as ADOPTED children of God.  Because of Christ, we Christians can come confidently to the throne of God.  We call Him “Abba, Father.”  We inherit the promises of salvation in the everlasting Kingdom.

4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the ADOPTION AS SONS. 6 And because you are SONS, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a SON, and if a SON, then an HEIR OF GOD through Christ.” (Gal. 4:4-17).

“having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,” (Eph. 1:5).
