Incarnation

The word “INCARNATION” is not used in the Scriptures.  The term refers to the Son of God, Jesus Christ, becoming a Man to bring salvation to all of the world for all who would put their saving faith in Him.  He entered human life as a child, born to the Virgin Mary as conceived by the Holy Spirit (Matt. 1:18, 23; Isaiah 7:14).  At His first coming, He fulfilled all of the O.T. prophecies to prove that He was the promised Messiah of Israel.  He fulfilled all of the requirements for redemption for all who would believe.

Jesus introduced the Kingdom of God to the Jewish people.  He accomplished all necessities of the atonement for sin, which would be applied to all who would put their saving faith in Him (believing Jews and believing Gentiles), including being crucified and resurrected in AD 30.  He then ascended into heaven and fulfilled all requirements in the Heavenly Holy of Holies.

At His second coming Parousia in AD 66-70, He resurrected the faithful believing souls waiting in Hades/Sheol, saved/rescued/raptured the remaining living faithful saints (Heb. 9:28).  He also fulfilled all prophecies relating to the Resurrection of the unjust; the Judgment; the removal of the obsolete Old Heavens and Earth cosmological order and the destruction of the Old Covenant Jewish religious system.  In AD 70, He reunited and fully consummated His eternal New Covenant Kingdom (seen earthly realm in the church and unseen heavenly realm) under the New Heavens and Earth cosmological order based on His blood, which will be forevermore (Eph. 1:10, 3:21; Isa. 9:7; Luke 1:32-33; Dan. 2:44, 7:13-14).

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the WORD WAS GOD.”(John 1:1).

14And the WORD BECAME FLESH and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the ONLY BEGOTTEN of the Father, full of grace and truth.(John 1:14).

The Gospel of John begins by introducing the WORD[Greek: “Logos” Strong’s 43056 = the Divine expression of Christ]. The Word is God.  He became ‘‘Flesh” and dwelt among us.

He is the INCARNATE Son of God, revealed to us as a Man so that He can communicate with us; reveal God to us; suffer and die for us; and accomplish all that was prophesied regarding the Messiah and Savior.  He is 100% God and 100% Man.  He became a Man without ceasing to be God.  Jesus Christ is full Deity and full human Savior in one Person.

15He is the IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD, the firstborn over all creation.  16For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.  ALL THINGS WERE CREATED THROUGH HIM AND FOR HIM.” (Col. 1:15-16).

5Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6WHO, BEING IN THE FORM OF GOD, did not consider it robbery to be EQUAL WITH GOD, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and COMING IN THE UKENESS OF MEN.(Phil. 2:5-7).

Christ is God INCARNATE having come in the flesh [Greek: “sarx” – Strong’s #4561 = flesh, re: the holy humanity of Christ].  Paul says that Christ was “sent in the likeness of sinful flesh” (Rom. 8:3) and “abolished in His flesh the enmity” (Eph. 2:15). Peter says that Christ “suffered in the flesh” (1 Pet. 4:1) and was “put to death in the flesh” (1 Pet. 3:18).
